For some working from home has been a blessing, for others they are excited to get back to the office, but regardless of what your preference may be, another big change in our lifestyles may come with effects on our mental health. Here are a few easy things to consider using when it comes to transitioning back to the office
-Take some of your new items with you! If you’ve seen the video of my office you know that I’ve accumulated some really great items (like my light therapy lamp). Incorporate those now “must-have” items into your office.
-Set up resources for your employees to openly communicate with you about their mental health. Start a group chat, have an open-door policy, create a weekly meeting with group activities, whatever you choose to do make sure that your employees know that you are there for them.
-Create workplace challenges like who gets the most steps per week, which can be easily tracked using a variety of products including your Fitbit or Smartphone. Doing something fun yet competitive will help to improve your employees' wellness.
It’s important to pay attention to both your own mental health as well as your employees, be sure to be observant, attentive, and welcoming to conversations. Even with wellness programs in play, extra care and consideration can be needed for some, especially after the last year we’ve faced.
